The ceramic object was made in a collaboration between two neighbors and friends- Huda from the Galilean Arab village Arrabe and Kayla from the nearby Jewish community village, Yuvalim.

The object was created by Kayla using a potter’s wheel, then followed by Huda’s inscription of the Arabic calligraphy to complete the process. The shape’s origin is reminiscent of both Islamic architecture and the ‘Shrine of the Book” in Jerusalem. The inlaid inscription is taken from the poem “Chambers of the Heart” by the Arab poet Al-Mutanabbi. The resulting piece was made possible thanks to the joint effort and the cultural and personal connection of both partners.
